Vernon Appoints Elscott as Director of Corporate Programs

The Vernon Company is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2018, Sharla Elscott was appointed to the position of Director of Corporate Programs. In this newly created position, Sharla will continue to be an integral part of the Sales and Marketing Team where she will be responsible for helping promote corporate programs and services to Vernon account executives and clients.

Dave Regan, Vernon’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing noted, “Customer programs and fulfillment services have been the fastest growing sector of our business over the last few years. This area requires more attention today than ever before. Sharla’s background and experience in all aspects of Vernon’s business makes her the perfect choice to manage and oversee this area.”

In this new role, Elscott will oversee all aspects of the Company’s client program business working with top account executives and clients to put together the most effective and efficient programs to meet client needs. Educating Vernon Account Executives and clients will be a top priority.

Most recently serving as Vernon’s Director of Sales, Elscott has been in the industry for more than three decades and with Vernon in a number of different roles for 17 years.

Vernon Life Supporters Raise $4,500 for Fight Against Cancer

The Vernon Company’s Vernon Life Supporters team raised $4,500 for the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer. The money was raised through a variety of company fundraisers, including a silent auction with over 20 auction items, a book and bake sale, the opportunity to purchase “jeans days” to wear to work, fruit and vegetable sales, pizza and walking taco lunches and the purchase of bird and leaf cutouts for Vernon’s Tree of Hope in honor of loved ones who have or have had cancer.

“Our Vernon Life Supporters team was made up of very big-hearted individuals who were determined to make a difference in the fight to defeat cancer,” said Bruce Corlew, Vernon Life Supporter team member. “Our team has lost two former team members to cancer, and all of us have been impacted by cancer in one way or another. I am very proud and thankful for each one of our member’s efforts and the unselfish way they worked together as a team.”

“The hard work and dedication of the Vernon Company’s Vernon Life Supporters is changing lives for those who are fighting cancer,” said Stephanie Fritz, American Cancer Society North Region Community Development Manager. “The money they raised for the American Cancer Society is going to life changing research, support and education that is saving lives.”

The Vernon Life Supporters Team is comprised of 11 Vernon employees, including Bruce Corlew, Eloise Froah, Jodi Foster, Laurie Fanning, Sommer Kibbee, Aleyna Hinderberger, Kristine Perkins, Melissa Hobbs, Natalie Chandler, Pam McCormick and Paula Zickmund.

Vernon Rewards Top Account Execs with Trip to Whistler

The Vernon Company recently recognized the winners of its annual Circle of Excellence Incentive Trip with an all-expenses paid trip to Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, June 3-8.

As contest winners, the company’s top Account Executives were rewarded a vacation for two to the historic, 5-star rated Four Seasons Resort in Whistler for exceeding their sales and management objectives during the 2017 sales year.

While in Canada, the 24 trip winners, their guests and corporate office representatives enjoyed a mix of fun, relaxation, networking, team-building, sightseeing, educational sessions and company social activities. Trip highlights included a private welcome reception at the start of the trip, as well as a fun group activity and dinner at the Table Nineteen Restaurant at the Nicklaus North Golf Course. Additionally, the group enjoyed a highly competitive session of axe throwing at Forged prior to dinner.

Vernon’s next Circle of Excellence incentive trip destination is Cascais, Portugal in May 2019.

Vernon Names Carrie Toczylowski 2017 Customer Service Rep of the Year

The Vernon Company awarded Carrie Toczylowski, who represents Cap America, as the 2017 Supplier Customer Service Rep of the Year during the company’s annual National Sales Meeting in April at The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee.

“Carrie provides outstanding customer service to Vernon,” said Vicki Palm, Director of Marketing. “She is quick to respond, knowledgeable in decorating methods and helpful with recommendations. She always goes the extra mile to help our account executives. She’s the first person our AE’s go to, and for us, her name is synonymous with Cap America.”

The company began honoring individual supplier representatives for outstanding service and dedication to Vernon and its account executives in 2014. The Supplier Customer Service Rep of the Year recognizes the people who are on the inside at our supplier partners – making things run smoothly day in, day out. The ones who are accessible all day long, responsive and working the front lines when problem resolution is needed – the Customer Service Rep. While Vernon has awarded Supplier Account Managers in the past, his is the first year that Vernon is also recognizing Supplier Customer Service Representatives at its National Sales Meeting.

Vernon Names Lisa Pelzel 2017 Supplier Account Manager of the Year

The Vernon Company awarded Lisa Pelzel, who represents Beacon, as the 2017 Supplier Account Manager of the Year during the company’s annual National Sales Meeting in April at The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee.

“Lisa is one the best,” said Vicki Palm, Director of Marketing. “She continually goes above and beyond in her services for Vernon and our account executives. She’s proactive with client storyboards, creative marketing options and product information. She works harder than most to help our AE’s wow their clients and close the sale.”
